Introducing MJ Kinman’s Birthstone Block of the Month featuring twelve beautiful 17” x 17” blocks. Each month you will receive the monthly birthstone pattern and a fat quarter pack containing Hoffman 1895 Bali Batiks. You will receive one hundred and five (105) fat quarters total throughout the year. These fabrics have been personally chosen by MJ Kinman.
Quilt finishes 63” x 84”.

This block of the month uses a freezer paper piecing technique.  It includes a fully-coded freezer paper template for a 17-inch square block representing the specific birthstone month; full-scale paper copy to use as a key; and 12-page pattern booklet that includes fabric requirements, detailed instructions for block construction.  Single-foundation piecing is not typical paper piecing: templates are ironed to the RIGHT side, so there is no confusing reverse piecing; templates are easily removed and REUSABLE, so there are no paper bits to pull from the back of the quilt; reduces fabric waste since there is no flip-and-sew method used.
